Tailgatin’ Burger

YIELD: 4 Servings

INGREDIENTS:

  • 4 slices of thick sliced hickory smoked bacon
  • 4 tbsp. brown sugar
  • 4 Holten’s PARTY PACK Beef Patties (frozen)
  • 4 classic burger rolls, cut in half
  • 4 butter lettuce leaf, rinsed and patted dry
  • 4 beefsteak tomatoes, thick cut
  • 8 slices white cheddar cheese
  • 8 tbsp. Kansas City style barbecue sauce
  • Kosher salt to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Pre-heat grill to 350 degrees.
  2. For the brown sugar bacon: Place the raw bacon strips onto the grill. When halfway cooked, flip the bacon strips over to finish cooking on the other side.
  3. Sprinkle generously with brown sugar and allow to crisp briefly while still on the grill.
  4. Remove brown sugar bacon from grill; cool. Cut strips into thirds and reserve.
  5. Place frozen Holten’s PARTY PACK Beef Patties on preheated grill. Once juices come to the top, it’s ready to flip.
  6. While the beef patties are grilling, lightly toast rolls on the grill with cut sides down.
  7. Remove rolls from grill and place a bed of lettuce and a tomato slice on the bottom half of each.
  8. Place the hot and juicy grilled beef patties on top of the tomato and top with the cheese, brown sugar bacon, and the barbecue sauce.
  9. Top each burger with other half of roll and serve.
